Early hires at startups are often made through personal networks and not job boards. A big part of this is because when a company is at any early stage, it can often be hard for them to effectively convey both why they're going to succeed, and what their work culture is like. But some of these companies can also offer some of the most interesting opportunities.
In an attempt to make it easier for you to get an idea of what early stage startups are about, and why you might want to work for them, I'm launching TokyoDev Talks. This event will give you a chance to hear first hand from the founder of the company about it, and give you a chance to ask questions without the need to actually apply for a position.
For the first TokyoDev Talk, we'll talk with Kotaro Saito, the founder of Randeft, a startup I'm personally excited about. They're targeting a niche area that most of us haven't heard of: data management for materials science. The company attracted my attention because I'm a fan of companies like this that target an underserved area, and also because they're committed to providing a psychologically safe work environment, something that many companies brush aside.
Randeft is hiring a Technical Lead. If this sort of position appeals to you, or you just want to know more about the company, please join us.
Paul will talk with Kotaro about why he founded Randeft, the current stage of the business and team, their tech stack, and working culture.
We'll open it up for you to directly ask Kotaro any questions you might have about Randeft.
